“In a trail of moonlight I went back inside, and the carpet got swept, and the cats wound themselves, charmingly, around my feet... I thought about the Goddess, and the God, through grocery lines and seventh-grade homework and soup for dinner, and through all the moments that passed…
Wicca is not just a path to follow; it is a life to live, a life of awareness, hope and love. A witch’s eyes are open in ways that other’ are not; we see Divinity in the shapes of leaves, in the patterns of stars, in the colours of an autumn field, and in the ladybug sunning itself on the mailbox on a February afternoon. Our ears are tuned to music in things like water over stones, and crickets in the sunflowers, and simple words that can be chanted aloud in the moonlight. We take responsibility for our actions– for ourselves, our planet, and our fellow beings, knowing that what goes around, comes around, and then some, and we create our lives accordingly. And our hearts are open to Spirit in ways that I can find no words or images to describe.
Living Wicca is living connected, to Heaven, the Earth, and everything in between. To truly live the path of Wicca is to get involved, not just some performing rituals and spells, but spreading magic throughout your life and community… Practise compassion… Notice Spirit everywhere. It’s easy in nature– take a walk in the park and watch the trees change, sit on a rock by the river and listen to the voice of the Earth, stand on the beach at sunset and count the waves between you and the moon…
The God and Goddess are everywhere, in everyone, and in everything. Remember this. Live your life from that knowing place, and you will hold the space for others to do so, and be blessed beyond imagining.”
